Pluto Flyby -- Might Stitch this Historic Event!

Using Pic2Pat, I got a few patterns of varying size of the last closeup before the actual flyby -- which we will hear more about later! This is really exciting for me; I've been interested in astronomy since the second grade or earlier. I remember feeling crushed when I heard about the Columbia disaster in 2003, as it made me afraid to pursue that dream of one day going into space. Oops. But still, I love looking at photos, reading about phenomena, and speculating on what might be out there.

When New Horizons launched in 2006, I was ecstatic! I felt they should have sent a probe to Europa instead (given the idea that there could be a warm ocean of life under the ice), but it was still exciting nonetheless. Honestly, I'd been afraid I would forget about the whole thing by the time it reached Pluto. I suppose I was partially right; it wasn't exactly in the front of my mind until I heard it was about to complete the voyage. But when I did hear that it was finally going to happen, I became excited all over again.

So! Here's a screenshot of the pattern and its colours. Hopefully I can go out to buy the threads soon. Underneath the dwarf planet, it will read, "New Horizons / Jan 19, 2006 - Jul 14, 2015." I may even try to stitch it onto black fabric.
